Only time will tell whether or not the Celtics got lucky in the 2013 Draft. At picks #11 and #16 Boston were able to pick up real-life picks #1 Anthony Bennett and #5 Alex Len whose draft stock has plummeted since the actual draft occurred in June.
"I'm going to go out on a limb" said Boston GM, Ian Noble "[Bennett] might become Larry Johnson II when he gets some playing time."
The Celtics were reportedly torn between Alex Len and point guard, Dennis Schroder, at #16 but decided to with the big man.
"Alex has been unlucky with injuries this season and even though he was picked at #5 in real life, he's still more of a gamble than Schroder, but it's a gamble I felt better about taking."
11. Anthony Bennett - $1,834,100 - $1,916,700 - $1,999,200 - $2,060,338 - $2,116,173 16. Alex Len - $1,419,200 - $1,483,100 - $1,546,900 - $1,575,868 - $1,614,778
Len was a nice pick up, a stash player for the season. Injuries are his only problem. Bennett was a gamble at 11, but he's going to be GOAT I hope. (Because I have him in D5)
