This is almost like a hit piece. Dwight Howard's actual quote is nothing like the tone of the whole article. This is what he said:
"I just think that despite whatever happened, there was a lot of things that I did and that we did as a team, and that number was special down there," Howard said. "And I was a little bit upset about that."
Unless he said it in a really douchey way then the tone of him being upset is in a 'that's kind of unfortunate' way and not a 'I'm pissed off and insulted' way. This just looks like sensationalism.

You maybe right partially, but he should not even be "a little bit upset" about Harris wearing his number. Honestly, he never really accomplished much and I think Hedo and Lewis might should get their number retired before him.

Not a chance. Dwight's number will eventually be retired in Orlando, but I believe he should be a bit more focused on this upcoming season as opposed to Tobias Harris wearing #12.
No way, what did Dwight ever accomplish to deserve his number retired?
Everything? He led the team to 4 straight 50+ win seasons and an NBA Finals appearance. He's won 3 Defensive Player of the Year awards, he played in 6 All-Star Games while with the Magic and 5 All-NBA 1st teams. He also holds the franchise records for:
Points - 11435 Rebounds - 8072 Off Rebounds - 2266 Def Rebounds - 5806 Blocks - 1344 Free Throw Attempts - 5727 Free Throws Made - 3366 Minutes Played - 22471 Rebounds Per Game - 13.0
He's also: 2nd in Games Played 2nd in Field Goal Attempts and Makes 2nd in Blocks Per Game 4th in Steals 5th in Points Per Game 10th in Assists
In NBA history he's:
5th in FG% 12th in RPG 19th in BPG
At this pace he'll be top 5 all time in rebounds and top 10 all time in blocks.
He's by far the most accomplished Magic player of all time. He'll easily get into the Hall of Fame and retiring his number will be one of the easiest decisions for the Magic front office to make after he retires.

Lebron's number will not be retired in Cleveland, Melo's number will not be retired in Denver, god help us if Toronto retires Chris Bosh's number, and Dwight's number will not be retired in Orlando. If he wants his number retired it needs to work out in Houston.
PS. Regardless of numbers, Shaq is the "most accomplished" Magic play ever.

No he isn't. I'm not referring to their whole career, just what they did in Orlando. Shaq was only there four seasons and his only accomplishments are Rookie of the Year and going to the 1995 Finals.
But whatever, you live in a world where Tim Duncan sucks and Hedo and Rashard Lewis accomplished more in Orlando than Dwight.

I stand by the fact that Hedo and Shard did more than Dwight, but your Shaq vs. Dwight comparison even just the Orlando years is ludicrous.
Shaq PPG:
23.4 29.3 29.3 26.6
Dwight PPG:
12 15.8 17.6 20.7 20.6 18.3 22.9 20.6
Shaq RPG:
13.9 13.2 11.4 11
Dwight RPG:
10 12.5 12.3 14.2 13.8 13.1 13.2 14.1 14.5
Shaq BPG:
3.5 2.9 2.4 2.1
Dwight RPG:
1.7 1.4 1.9 2.1 2.9 2.8 2.4 2.1
Clearly I am taking Shaq who not only dominates in points but also in blocks and is very close in rebounds.
To clarify my Duncan position, the guy WAS a great player at one point in time. However, he ceased to be that player about 2005, due to injuries, but yet people still put him on a level to a point that sickened me.
