Welcome to the League
This new league will operate for a few months each year to allow us to catch up to the real-life NBA season.
Most GMs have been allocated their team already. If this is you, please create an account and reply to this thread to claim the team you have been allocated.
GMs must keep the same name they had in the original D5.
You have 1 week, until the 1st September, to be allocated your team before it becomes an open application process like normal.

Important Information:
- Rosters: we are using up-to-date rosters minus rookies. The 2013 NBA Draft (Anthony Bennett, Victor Oladipo etc.) will be held after the first season.

Due to the method I used to create this league's rosters, many teams have less than 12 players! It is up to each GM to fill out their lineup to a minimum of 12 players before the start of the season using Free Agency. If this is not done a random selection of players will be signed automatically to each team to fill out the roster.
There are still some player salaries (KG, PP, Andrew Bynum etc.) that are incorrect which I will soon fix. - Sim Changes: Please can all GMs formulate their depth charts and post them in the Sim Changes section as soon as possible.
- Schedule: there will still be an 82 game schedule but the season will be sped up, meaning there will be more results than usual each week.
- Player Ratings: the same ratings will be ported over from D5. I will try to make Stock Watch Discussion requested changes as soon as possible.
- Sim Engine: working with NBA2k13 was just too much of a hassle and it's generally incompatible with running a league such as this one. However thanks to 2k13 it only took 6 hours (lol) of testing and database work to port the recent lineups over to NBA Live 06, which will continue to be the sim engine.
- New Forum Type: ProBoards in their wisdom have foisted this new type of forum upon us for the foreseeable future and it's going to take some time to get used to it. There's a lot of functionality in D5 that I'm still trying to replicate here, such as team icons in mini-profiles etc.
- League Name: to differentiate between this league and D5, I'm going to continue to call the original league Dynasty Five, or D5 for short. This league I've been calling D5Star (because of the logo I created on the homepage), or D5*, but really if I had my wits about me I might have given it a different name because we're going to get mixed up between the two leagues quite a lot I imagine.
