It doesn't matter what favors who, this trade should never have been passed in the first place. As the new rule says, if a trade is deadlocked at 2-2, it must be voted upon by the General Managers. It's been voted upon and no General Manager has been in favor of passing this trade.
This type of nonsense has been happening for the past three weeks, beginning with the Miami Heat and Atlanta Hawks trade.
When rules are not followed, the league isn't fun anymore.
Jrue Holiday - Eric Gordon - Tyreke Evans - Ryan Anderson - Anthony Davis
The main issue I have with this trade's resurrection is that it's been resurrected. There's obviously a few things that have gone wrong here, probably because I'm not 100% coherent recently thanks to a nasty bout of vertigo (!!), but to go back on what's happened would be unfair to Alex English in my opinion.

To be fair (to myself at least), I had a problem with it as soon as the old Magic GM left the league. And right now at the top of the shoutbox, the new Magic Gm says "Rudy Gay OTB, almost any offer will get him"
In other words, I'd bet he'd rather have those young guys with quite a bit of potential (especially Tobias, and Mo to a little lesser extent) on his roster than overpaid, good but not great Rudy Gay.
I really don't understand why it was ever passed through, it honestly seems like a very un-Ian thing to do to pass a trade through when a GM backed out of the LEAGUE during the voting process.

Oh and those younger guys with tons of potential are also younger and WAAAAAY cheaper, even combined, than Rudy Gay, so yea, I just am still kinda baffled you didn't kill the trade when the old Magic GM backed down.
In summary, that hurt the Magic more than NOT doing the trade would have hurt Alex.
