Pierce and Garnett joined the Nets in real life and the Celtics got a bunch of picks in return. Since we're starting from basics here I have none of those Nets picks, which is a big pain, so I'm looking around the league trying to trade guys like Wallace, Humphries and Bass for draft picks and I don't really mind if I take on big salaries (Andre Miller) whilst I do it.
This also gives me a Center in Mozgov, at the moment I only have Fab Melo who was cut by the Celtics in real life, which isn't a good sign for his stock!
31-Year Old, breaking down physically, playing less mpg lately, worst contract of the bunch...last year had 7.7ppg / 4.6rpg / 2.6apg / 1.4spg / .7bpg (in 30mpg) Very low value 2013 2nd Round Pick
for
37-Year Old, past his prime, playing fewer minutes but seems consistent at this point, fair(/slightly bad?) contract...last year had 9.6ppg / 2.9rpg / 5.9apg / .9spg / .1bpg (in 26mpg) 27-Year Old, in his prime, consistent backup big man, fair/slightly overpriced contract...last year had 2.6ppg / 2.6rpg / .2apg / .1spg / .4bpg (in less than 9mpg) Middle/Low end FIRST ROUND pick in the 2014 Draft
Honestly, GWall for Miller and Mozgov is fair. Miller is probably the most productive and consistent player in the deal, and doesn't have a huge contract. Wallace is probably the worst overall piece in the deal. His rating needs to be like, 78-79 unless he proves these last years were a fluke. He's no longer hovering around 2+steals/1 block a game, which is what got him to an 85...he needs to come down at least 4-5 points.
I don't understand why the 1st is needed here. Of course Ian would like it, but I don't see why it is needed.
For one Gerald Wallace is a pickup that any playoff team would love. We have depth all around with this trade. I lose Miler who I've never liked nor do I think he plays well in sim. I don't even want Moscov on my team. I may be picking up a quality guard to go along with the guards I have. Should have lots of depth.
I know Moscov is an expiring, but I basically need roster spots for a few others I may pick up.,
This trade doesn't hurt our team. Too add a valuable addition such as Wallace to a talented playoff team-Could make a difference. Ill prob only make two or three moves after the season begins.
Wallace is a key player we needed and well still worth a first. I remember Indy traded two first rounders for a key addition in Scola.
I think it makes sense here, but in real life I don't see the Nugs making this trade. Contract is just terrible, 1st round pick too valuable. You basically don't have to guard Wallace on offense (i.e. Bulls playoff series) That's where he becomes a liability. His strength was his athleticism and that is on the decline. Could work a little better with Denver's offense then Nets/Celts though
I'm going to reject. I might value Andre Miller alone more than Gerald Wallace. He was awful last season and he's been pretty average since he left Charlotte. He needs a rating decrease to at least 80.
PG - Goran Dragic | SG - Terrence Ross | SF - Maurice Harkless | PF - Enes Kanter | C - Jonas Valanciunas
In the past that made it a reject, so I guess this gets rejected.
Did it? I thought your vote was the tiebreaker. So at 2-2 whatever you voted was the result of the trade. Obviously that can't apply to this trade though.

Actually, I see it the same way I see fantasy basketball trades. Unless their is obvious collusion, and obvious league wide unrest to a trade, then it should go through. You know what you are doing and you are your own team. I understand it can bone everyone else. Or anyone coming into the league (I'm not sure how high turnover is) But that's the point of not making bad trades.
I would reject the Magic trade simply because the GM is leaving.

It's been the case in the past that, if we didn't police trades quite closely then some teams were just destroyed by their GM, the GM got bored and left the league and we were left with a team, or a few teams, with rosters so crap that nobody wanted to be the GM, which harmed the league.
However we have had discussions that centred around the fact that, so long as the team still had a minimum level of assets then the GM should be allowed to make any trade they wanted, which certainly applies to this trade.
I know the committee are concerned here because JR Wiles has not been the best at building his team over at D5. That 2014 1st Round pick is probably seen as worth a lot more than it would otherwise be (sorry JR!). That's probably why this trade was rejected.
I don't agree that Andre Miller is a superior basketball player than Gerald Wallace. Wallace may have had a horrid season, but he's a solid baller who will not be going under 80 anytime soon.
Obviousily the first round pick that Denver gives up is big, but I don't think it's enough to justify a reject.
Jrue Holiday - Eric Gordon - Tyreke Evans - Ryan Anderson - Anthony Davis
This was suppose to be a decent move for our team. The first is worth Wallace over Miller. Miller is a backup and Gerald continues to be a starter in the NBA. Not his fault he had to change his game. Look for a starter like season this season with the Celtics.

Though in my opinion he's getting at least a lottery pick in the 2014 draft for really cheap. But who knows what JR will do, I'm not going to hold his performance with the Spurs against him.

That's cool of you, Alex, and obviously I really want this trade to be accepted, but it's more important we do what's right here in the wider context of what's going to happen in the future. I think this may take some level of preparation on my part so that the staff are aware of which teams should be in special measures, certainly Philly and maybe Orlando should have been from the start of this league given their situations and the value of their draft picks. We already make minimal provisions for new GMs... and that has to be balanced with a new GM's desire to get involved... I digress, I'm a little drunk this evening!
If this trade has 3 accepts though I'm going to move it to accepted and, unless there's any objection, I think it gets passed. I'll leave that up in the air for the time being.
